Jessie Ware

JESSIE WARE

When just one song can capture my attention for three days straight on repeat well shit I better highlight this artist! Jessie Ware is best known for Wildest Moments off her album Devotion, but I'm clearly obsessed with this Brit's song Say You Love Me. The part of the song that just gives me the goosies is as follows "want to feel burning flames when you say my name, want to feel passion flow into my bones like blood through my veins" and it's probably because I want the same thing. Seriously.
No, seriously.

Also check out this Instagram shout out from THE Sam Smith about Jessie Ware.
 Street Cred - CHECK.

Alright now download Jessie Ware's Tough Love and Devotion albums, but first check out the song that currently is my obsession Say You Love Me.

ZZ Ward

ZZ WARD

What Bridget Jones's Dairy and a gallon of ice cream is for most girls, ZZ Ward's Til the Casket Drops was for me. Every track I related to, the entire album I had on repeat for a month; it was my heartbreak therapy. Seriously.

Ward has a way of expressing how vulnerable she is but in a bad ass kinda way, sometimes equipped with a harmonica and most of the time rockin' a fedora. ZZ's sassy, fierce, jazzy, edgy and soulful. Maybe I should have highlighted Cryin' Wolf which features Kendrick Lamar or most well-known Put the Gun Down, but I decided to share my personal therapy favorite Lil' Darlin'. Enjoy.

Niykee Heaton

NIYKEE HEATON

Niykee Heaton's EP Bad Intentions was released yesterday (September 24, 2014) and her days of crooning graphically sexual lyrics by artists like Ty Dolla $ign, Mike Posner, Lil Wayne and Drake on YouTube are now over. She got swooped up by All Def Music (Russell Simons and Steve Rifkind) and something tells me that the artists she once covered will now have her featured or vice versa.

Take a listen.

Serena Ryder

SERENA RYDER

If you are in the mood for something a little sassy, sultry and raspy then check out Serena Ryder. She's most known for her song "Stompa", but I happen to be very partial to "For You" off her latest album Harmony.  She has a laundry list of accolades, hardware and albums but all you need to do is watch the video and get goosies alongside me.
Enjoy.

Passenger

PASSENGER

The whole reason we attend concerts is to see and hear an artist belt out our favorite song that we've had on repeat for far too long, but to also feel more connected to those lyrics.
At times you get your money's worth when artists carry out their songs with clever remixes, exaggerated intros and running through the crowds; other times performances can lack connection and feel rushed.
Passenger's performance at EchoStage was truly an experience.

The first thing to address is Passenger is Michael Rosenberg, yup, just Mike. No band, no crazy A/V, just a guy, his guitar and a powerful presence. He had a way of making his music flow out so understandably it seemed as if it was as rich and pure as the first time he put the words on paper. His passion behind every syllable uttered was either packaged with a smile, pounding on his chest, slapping his guitar or stomping on the ground. Between every song, there was a vivid story smothered with a witty English accent that lacked no detail or was pressured by time. At the end of every song, his thank you to the audience was as if it was the last song he'd perform for the rest of his life. The end of his performance felt like a long goodbye of passionate lovers that came packaged in medley form of the crowd's favorite Let Her Go.
Passenger is the reason why we attend concerts, we want to be even more moved by the music that moves us.

Ella Eyre

ELLA EYRE

Besides being a part of the Curly Hair Club (that's not a real thing, but it totally should be) and British, Ella has made a name for herself in the UK and has also gained music street cred with her collaborated work with Wiz Khalifa and Rudimental.
Besides having only ONE TOUR DATE in the USofA  (sheesh) on July 25th in San Fran, she has Deeper her EP that was released in December 2013.
I'm pretty limited in my Ella Eyre knowledge, but what I do know is that her voice is incredible and I think you will thoroughly enjoy her single Deeper. Take a listen.
